The beginning of my collection
My collection journey kicked off in 2016 when I moved to New York and acquired an old but pristine PlayStation 3 (CHECHA001). I chose this model for its backward compatibility and easy HDMI connection, avoiding the hassle of upscalers. Before placing it on my media console, I replaced the thermal paste to prevent the infamous “red light of death.” Despite some initial nerves, the process was straightforward, and as I write this in 2024, my cherished PS3 is still going strong, a beloved centerpiece of my collection.
